GAFA opens gates for homeless

Social Day under the banner of charity

On November 30, 2019, the Social Day under the motto "Open the gates for friends and light" was held at the School of Hospitality under the leadership of Leo Reitprecht. About 100 homeless people were invited to the ballroom of the school. Chef Franz Dallinger, the multiple award-winning young chef Matthias Birnbach and the deputy headmaster Tolga Kaynak conjured up a three-course festive menu together. They were actively supported by committed students from the technical school and the advanced training course.

All students volunteered to support the GAFA Social Day. "Why do I participate? Because I like to help people," one student sums up the motivation behind volunteering. "It makes me happy that I can do something good during Advent," emphasizes another student, who is supporting Social Day for the third year. Graduates of the school also helped out, patiently explaining how to properly prepare milk foam.

The colorful GAFA school choir and a violinist provided a Christmas atmosphere. At the farewell, many hands were squeezed and even more words of thanks were expressed.
