Weekly cooking in the VinziDorf Vienna
We cooked for the residents of the VinziDorf together with our specialist board member Peter Fallnbügl.
Here, homeless men find permanent accommodation and are supported with hot meals and clothing.
The VinziDorf is a very special place of humanity and relies on donations and support.
Here is the delicious menu to try:
Appetizer: Baked chicken liver with mayonnaise sauce
* Organic chicken liver
* Breading with Viennese breadcrumbs: flour, egg, breadcrumbs
* Side dish: small potatoes with butter and parsley
* Mayonnaise sauce: whisk 1 egg yolk, ½ tsp lemon juice and ½ tsp mustard together and mix with 100-200 ml oil, season with cayenne pepper and salt to taste
Main course: Organic linguine with seafood and tomato sauce
* Finely chop 1-2 cloves of garlic and 1 onion and sauté
* Add shrimps and mussels to taste
* Bring to the boil with 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
* Season with fresh parsley and salt
* Cook the organic linguine al dente and serve together
Dessert: Bundt cake
* Grease and flour the baking tin with butter
* Beat 250 g soft butter, 320 g sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar in a bowl until fluffy and then stir in 5 eggs
* Now stir 500 g flour with 1 packet of baking powder alternately with 100 ml milk into the butter mixture.
* Pour everything into the tin and bake at 180 °C for 60 minutes
* Leave to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
