Gold, silver, bronze: Great success for GAFA at the Falstaff Young Talent CUP 2020
1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place:
With these outstanding performances, our three GAFA students Tolga Kaynak, Sarah Jahn and Carla Fink shone in the vegetable cuisine category at the Falstaff Young Talent Cup 2020 in Graz. This shows that our training focus on vegan cuisine, which has existed in the 2nd grades for five years, is bearing fruit. Four hours of practice are on the program for the students each week.
"GAFA educates for the future, the demand for alternative forms of nutrition is already enormous. We as a school want to create awareness for precisely this and also make our students clearly aware of their responsibility towards resources," explains head of department David Grandegger.
Winner Tolga Kaynak secured his victory with a variation of pumpkin, celery, mushroom and elder. Sarah Jahn and Carla Fink convinced the jury with perfectly prepared dishes of red beet, pumpkin, cashew nuts, truffle and fig.
This success would not have been possible if it were not for the teachers who have dedicated themselves to the education and additional training hours of our competition class. A very special thanks goes to FL Lukas Kaiblinger, who is the initiator of the competition class, and also to colleague Katharina Kurz, who takes care of the patisserie.
